Morung of Zeliang tribe and the archery competition

One of the major tribes of Nagaland, Zeliang tribe or Zeme Nagas is noted for their vibrant traditional dresses. Featured here is the morung or the traditional youth dormitory of Zeliang tribe built during the Hornbill Festival. The youth dormitory of Zeliang is also known as rehangki.

Here, you can also see the archery competition organized by the Department of Youth Resources during the annual Hornbill Festival in Nagaland.

Hornbill Festival, organized by State Tourism and Art & Culture Departments of Nagaland, is held annually in the first week of December. The festival is a celebration of the unique cultural tradition of Naga tribes that also gives a platform for the tribal dances of other northeastern states in India.
