Morung of the Konyak tribe in Nagaland
The Konyak tribe, known for their vicious hunting skills and tattooing is one of the 16 indigenous tribes of India’s northeastern State of Nagaland. A major warrior tribe, Konyak tribe belongs to the Naga people and they have the largest population among Nagas.
Featured in this video is the morung or the youth dormitory of Konyak tribe built during the hornbill festival – an annual celebration that showcases traditional arts, dances and folk songs of various tribes in Nagaland. The festival is held every year in the first week of December at Kisama in Kohima.
