Dance of the Lotha Nagas from Nagaland
Belonging to the Wokha district of Nagaland, the Lotha Nagas is one of the major tribes of Nagaland. They are noted for their colourful dances and folk songs. Tokhu Emong and Pikhuchak are the main festivals of the Lotha Nagas.
Featured here is a tribal dance of the Lotha Nagas performed during the annual Hornbill Festival of Nagaland. Held every year during the month of December, the Hornbill Festival is a celebration of the tribal culture of the northeastern states of India.
