The Swathi Sangeethotsavam or Swathi Music Festival is a week-long festival of music celebrating the compositions of Maharaja Swathi Thirunal. The festival is held in the month of January every year in the courtyard of Kuthira Malika Palace at East Fort, Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. Swati Kritis are jewels of compositions in the Carnatic music world.
The performance is based on the Keerthana: Mamavasadajanani…, Raaga: Kannada, Taala: Roopaka. Accompanying him is Sri. M.A. Sundaresan on the Violin, Sri. Mannnargudi A. Easwaran on the Mridangam, Sri. Vaikkom Gopalakrishanan on the Ghatam and Sri. Payyannur T. Govindaprasad on the Morsingh or Jew’s Harp.
