Dawki River in Shillong, Meghalaya
Dawki, a famous town near India-Bangladesh frontier is situated in Meghalaya state. It is a popular place in the north-east India. Featured in this video is the freely flowing Dawki River or Umngot River.
The green waters add more charm to the river. The river joins two districts - the Jaintia Hills District and the East Khasi Hills District.
The Dawki Bridge which was constructed in 1932 by the British connects the missing link of National Highway 40, the Guwahati- Shillong- Dawki Road.
