Bir Tikendrajit Park, Imphal
Featured in this video is the Bir Tikendrajit Park, a historically significant place in Manipur, a north-eastern state in India. Situated in Imphal, this park has been erected to commemorate Bir Tikendrajit, who was a prince of the independent kingdom of Manipur.
Tikendrajit led the Manipuri army in the Anglo-Manipur war of 1891. One can also see the Martyr’s gate where Bir Tikendrajit and his General Thangal were hanged by the British army on 13th August, 1891. Today it is a major tourist spot in the state.
