What is Autism?

Autism is a serious health problem and a development disorder that appears in the first three years of life. This is a severe psychiatric disorder found in children. The disease impairs their communicative ability and adversely affects the normal intellectual development. Even the behavioural patterns of such children are seriously distorted.

In our country, the disease is not properly addressed. The onset of the disease seems before the child reaches the age of 3. The child at this stage shows difficulty to express its mind even through proper gestures or signs. The emotional attachment shown to its parents starts dwindling by degrees. Reluctance to mingle with other children and desire to be left in solitude for long are the part of further development of the disease.
