R.K. Films and Studios in Mumbai

Right one year after the independence of India, Mumbai witnessed the setting up of a studio complex which later contributed to the Indian cinema, a number of classic tales. Named R.K. Films and Studios, Raj Kapoor, the show man of Indian cinema was behind this time initiative ahead of its time.

The golden era of Bollywood aka Hindi Film Industry starts from this studio, though its first film Aag couldn’t do well at the box office. Many super hit films were made by R.K. Films including, Awaara, Boot Polish, and Shree 420. The studio complex still stands as a proud symbol in Chembur, a suburb in eastern Mumbai.
