Maharashtra Kala Academy, Mumbai

One of the most popular cultural centers in Mumbai is Maharashtra Kala Academy, situated at Prabhadevi in Dadar, Maharashtra state in India. As the name indicates, it is the platform for all the arts (kala’s).

The main aim of this cultural complex is to promote arts and to encourage upcoming artists. It includes dancing, singing, animation, cine acting and more. The Kala Academy complex is one of the notable landmarks in Mumbai city.

This complex covers an area of 2 lakh sq. ft. Inside the complex there is an art gallery, exhibition hall, mini theatre, cafeteria, parking lot and more.

There are dance halls for traditional dance forms like Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam and Kuchipudi. Moreover there are mini halls for sculpture, handicrafts and photography. All these together make this a famous cultural institution.
