Haji Ali Dargah in Mumbai, Maharashtra
A famous pilgrim centre in Mumbai (Bombay), Maharashtra state of India — the Haji Ali Dargah was built in the year 1431 by a rich Muslim merchant Haji Ali. The mosque built in the indo-islamic style of architecture is located on an island off the coast of Worli. Legend is that a great saint drowned in the place where the mosque is now situated. On Thursdays and Fridays, heavy rush is seen here to obtain the blessings of the saint.
