Banganga and Shri Walkeshwar Temple in Mumbai
The ancient homes to Goud Saraswat Brahmins, Banganga and Walkeshwar are sacred destinations located in Mumbai, Maharashtra state of India. Ban means arrow. Legend says that Lord Rama with his brother Lakshman visited this place in search of his missing spouse Sita. As he was thirsty and there was no water available, Rama shot an arrow into the ground and brought River Ganga over here to quench his thirst. It was also here that the Sage Gautam who advised Rama to worship Lord Shiva to get back his wife.
