August Kranti Maidan, Mumbai

Mumbai (formerly Bombay), Maharashtra state of India, is a historic city which had a great involvement in the freedom struggle of the country. Here, there are various monuments commemorating the historical events which occured in various parts of the city. August Kranti Maidan (ground) is one such place which is of greater historical relevance. On August 8^th and 9^th of 1942, Gandhiji — father of the nation, and other prominent leaders held a meeting in this ground to fight for the freedom asking the British to ‘Quit India’.
