Shown here is the Cave No. 9 of Ajanta Rock cut monuments at Aurangabad in Maharashtra, India. One of the chaityagrihas or sanctuaries in Ajanta, Cave No.9 has a large liturgical hall, with a monolithic stone stupa carved from the living rock. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ajanta Caves are famous for its mural and are the finest surviving examples of Indian art, particularly Buddhist painting.
