Ajanta Cave No. 19, Aurangabad
Cave No. 19 is one among the Chaityas in Ajanta. Buddhist prayer halls that house a stupa are called Chaityas. Unlike the chaitya caves 9 and 10, that are perfectly plain, is elaborately carved throughout. It is well preserved and is still in a good condition.
Cave No. 19 is one of the most perfect specimens of Buddhist art in India and the first example of a chaitya wholly in stone. The Ajanta Caves which includes paintings and sculptures, considered to be masterpieces of Buddhist religious art, is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
