Ajanta Cave No. 17, Aurangabad

Cave No. 17 of Ajanta is an excellent vihara (monasteries with a sanctuary in the structure's rear centre). The entire cave is decked with several paintings that are more in number than the sculptures. Cave 17 is also known as the zodiac cave. The Ajanta Caves which includes paintings and sculptures, considered to be masterpieces of Buddhist religious art, is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
