Afghan church in Mumbai
Afghan church in Maharashtra state is otherwise called St. John’s church. It is situated in south Mumbai (Bombay). It was constructed to commemorate British soldiers who died in the Afghan war of 1838. It was built by the British East India Company.
This church is located in the Colaba region in Mumbai city. It is a heritage monument which has beautiful artworks.
Tourists are attracted mostly by these decorations. Many tourist destinations including Nariman point, Marine Drive, Regal cinema and Flora fountain are located near this church.
