Parvati Temple at Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh
Parvati temple is located on the south west side of the Viswanatha temple, Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh. It is believed that it was originally dedicated to Lord Vishnu but at present, this ancient temple enshrines an image of Goddess Parvati, the consort of Lord Shiva.
Khajuraho, a typical central Indian village, has found its place in the UNESCO World Heritage List for being home to an exquisite group of temples, which are known for their beautiful sculptures.
There were about 85 temples in Khajuraho of which only 25 survive today. Both the exteriors and interiors of these temples are adorned with sculptures of various themes
