Nandi Shrine, Khajuraho
This video features the Nandi shrine, located at Khajuraho in the centrally located State of Madhya Pradesh in India. It is a small temple opposite the Viswanatha Temple and is dedicated to the bull – Nandi, the vehicle of Lord Shiva.
The shrine was built in C.E. 1000 and belongs to the western group of temples with their entrance facing each other. The sanctum sanctorum of the temple has a huge statue of Nandi.
Khajuraho is a popular tourist spot and is visited by devotees and tourists throughout the year. There were about 85 temples in Khajuraho, of which only 25 survive today.
