Maa Kali Temple, Ujjain
The Maa Kalika temple, located at Ujjain, an ancient city in the State of Madhya Pradesh, India, is one of the eighteen Shaktipeethas (seats of divine power). The presiding deity - Mahakali, the Goddess - was worshiped by the great poet Kalidasa. In this temple, the idol of Mahakali is placed between the idols of Goddess Mahalakshmi and Goddess Saraswati.
Devotees throng this temple especially during Tuesdays and Fridays to seek the blessings of their Mother Goddess, by offering her flowers and kumkum (saffron powder).
