Rock Cut Jain Temples, Gwalior

Presented in this video are the rock-cut Jain temples in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh state of India. It include giant rock-cut sculptures of the Tirthankaras (the 24 great Jain teachers).­

Most of the Jain sculptures were vandalized and castrated by Muslim armies in the 16th century and were rebuilt later.­ It is one of the most visited places in Gwalior.
