Bhimbetka Rock Shelters - a UNESCO World Heritage Site
Bhimbetka Rock Shelters located in the Raisen district of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, situated on the foothills of the Vindhya Mountains on the southern edge of the central Indian plateau. These are massive rock structures depicting the earliest traces of human life in India. Various engravings and paintings in red and white colours are portrayed on these heavy rock shelters.
The rock shelters here belong to the Paleolithic and Mesolithic ages. Besides the case, the breathtaking views around this place also attract travellers.
