Bhimbetka Rock Shelter 13
Featured in this video is the Bhimbetka Rock Shelter 13 in the foothills of the Vindhyan Mountains on the southern edge of the central Indian plateau. Located in the Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh State in India, Bhimbetka is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
On the massive rock structures, there are various engravings and paintings in red and white colours. These rock caves are around 30,000 years old and belong to the Mesolithic and Paleolithic ages.
There are about twenty-one villages adjacent to this historical site and the cultural traditions of the inhabitants here have a strong resemblance to those represented in the rock paintings.
