Ashrafi Mahal at Mandu
This video is on the Ashrafi Mahal at Mandu in the State of Madhya Pradesh in India. Known as the ‘palace of gold coins,’ Ashrafi Mahal was earlier used to function as an academic institution for Islamic studies (madrassa) for young boys. Now one of the major attractions at Mandu, Ashrafi Mahal was constructed as a ‘Tower of Victory’ by Mahmud Shah to celebrate his victory over Rana Kumbha of Mewar.
Mandu, a fortress town situated on the Vindhya Ranges is about 100km away from Indore city in Madhya Pradesh.
