Glimpses of the Past- Raj Mahal Palace
The imposing structure of Raj Mahal palace is one of the most visited and magnificent palaces in Madhya Pradesh. This 16th century building was built by king Rudra Pratap and his successors.
The palace, built in the Bundela Rajput style of architecture, has two rectangular courtyards around which the floors rise in tiers. The interiors of the palace are decorated though the outer walls are plain.
The two rectangular courtyards in the interior of the palace were meant for the Bundela queens. On the left side of the first courtyard, there is the Hall of Private Audience, covered with rich carpets and cushions.
