Nagarjun - Maithili poet
Nagarjun (30th June 1911 – 4th November 1998) was an eminent Maithili and Hindi poet. He was also known by the names Baba Nagarjun, Vaidya Nath Mishra and Yatri. Popularly known as Janakavi (People’s poet), he had also written novels, short stories and travelogues.
Born in Madhubani district of Bihar state, he was famous for his revolutionary ideas. Tumne Kaha Tha, Hazar Hazar Bahon Wali, Talab ki Maghhliyan, Khichri Viplava Dekha Humne and Satrange Pankhon Wali are his major poetry collections. Baba Bateshar Nath, Ugratara, Jamania Ka Baba and Varun Ke Bete are his popular novels.
