Re-reading Kamala Das
The paper presented here by Dr. Meena T. Pillai, discusses the many possibilities of subversions opened up by the writings of Kamala Das, one of the major Indian English Poets. The speaker enunciates how Das’ writing exposes those acts that constitute the illusion of stable gender identity. Her works validates the performativity concepts of Judith Butler and as explained by Julia Kristeva it punctures the solid surfaces of patriarchal logos.
