Khushwant Singh, English Writer, India
Khushwant Singh was born on 2nd February 1915 in Punjab state. He is a well known Indo – Anglian novelist and a journalist. He is better known for his historical novel Train to Pakistan. The novel deals with the Partition of India in August 1947.
He received Padma Bhushan in 1974 and Padma Vibhushan in 2007. The History of Sikhs, Delhi: A Novel, I Shall Not Hear the Nightingale, Ghadar 1915: India’s first armed revolution, The Company of Women, Truth, Love and a Little Malice and Death at My Doorstep are his famous novels.
