Dance of the Eunuch Critical Analysis

The paper presented by Dr. Meena T.. Pillai, Associate Professor, Institute of English, University of Kerala, discusses Kamala Das’ poem The Dance of the Eunuchs. The speaker says that the gender identity of the eunuchs are reconceived as a cultural history of received meaning. The eunuchs unmask the stylistic mask of femininity troubling all acts of gender mimicry by which performances of feminine are domesticated and normalized.
