Mohiniyattam Anklet and Waistband
Mohiniyattam, the dance of the enchantress, is a classical dance form the State of Kerala in India. It is one of the eight classical dance forms of India. Set apart by its graceful body movements and subtle facial expressions the dance depicts the varied forms and moods of love.
In all Indian classical dance forms, ornaments have a significant part to play. Traditionally they are called temple jewellery (jewelry). Ornaments used in Mohiniyattam show the inimitable talents of the goldsmiths of this country. These elegant jewelries, composed of gold, usually include necklace, long chain (maangamala) vanki (armband), oddiyanam (waistband) jimikky (swinging ear ornaments) and anklets.
