Edneer Mutt at Kasaragod
Located ten kilometers northeast of Kasaragod town, Kerala, India, Edneer Mutt is a religious centre belongs to the tradition (parampara) of Totakacharya one of the four chief disciples of Sri Sankaracharya, a great spiritual leader. Hence the place is famed as a seat of art and learning that belongs to the Sankaracharya tradition.
The chief deities in Edneer Mutt are Dakshinamurthi and Gopalakrishna. A religious center renowned for its encouragement of art, literature and cultural activities, the mutt is often visited by a large number of devotees from Kerala and Karnataka as well.
