Dwajasthambam - the flagstaff of Kerala Temple
Pooja's and chanting of Vedic hymns by the priests during the installation of a new 'dwajasthambam' in a temple situated in the capital city, Thiruvananthapuram. Dwajasthambam or Flagstaff is an important feature of Hindu temples in Kerala. Locally known as 'kodimaram' the flagstaff combined of balipitha (altar for offerings) and the vahana (vehicle) of the deity to which the temple is dedicated.
