Training Session before the grand regatta
Nehru Trophy boat race held on the second Saturday of August, every year on the Punnamada backwater in Alappuzha, Kerala, is a grand regatta, which is recognized worldwide. This boat race was first organized to commemorate the visit of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the then Prime Minister of India.
Featured in this video is the training session before the regatta. It is very exciting to watch the Chundan Vallams or the Snake Boats speeding on the backwater.
