Mahe's Popular Hangout: Tagore Park
Tagore Park, situated about 15 km away from Thalassery Town in Kannur, and at the mouth of the Mahe River, is a popular “hangout” spot for residents of both Mahe and Kannur.
The Tagore Park is the only place in Mahe where tourists can relax and spend some time by the seaside and view the sunset over the Arabian Sea.
Unlike Puducherry, though Mahe is a former French colony, it doesn't have any French monuments or remarkable heritage sites.
The park includes an arresting statue of Mahatma Gandhi, and also a statue of Marianna who was a prominent figure of the French insurrection and who later became a national symbol of France.
