Sirohi Goat - a goat breed from Rajasthan
Sirohi goat, an Indian breed derives its name from the Sirohi district of Rajasthan, India. Most of these are reared for both milk and meat. Known for better lactation and weight gain, Sirohi goats are resistant to major diseases and are easily adaptable to different climatic conditions.
The lactation is fine even under poor quality rearing conditions. They are also known by other names such as Devgarhi, Parbatsari and Ajmeri. Above is a video of Sirohi goat, taken from Vellayani Agricultural College in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India.
