Kapila Cow - a rare breed of cow from Karnataka
Kapila is a rare breed of cow native to the Indian State of Karnataka. A small breed, Kapila produces less milk but of high medicinal value and high healing properties. This breed of cow is said to have been reared by Kapila rishi (rishi means sage) - a Vedic sage and hence obtained its name. Golden Kapila is a variant of this breed that comes with golden eyes, nose and skin. The cow sheds its horns once a year.
