A Cave near Pulinjal Waterfalls, Wayanad

Wayanad has a history that dates back to several millennia. Historians are of the opinion that organized human life existed here at least ten centuries before Christ. The hills of Wayanad still preserve evidences about New Stone Age civilization. Edakkal caves for example have pictorial writings indicating the presence of prehistoric civilization or settlement in Wayanad.
