Bull racing - Kakkoor Kalavayal near Kochi

Racing bulls of Kakkoor Kalavayal - an agrarian festival held in the village near the town of Piravom in Ernakulam district of Kerala. Celebrated for five days in the Malayalam month of Kumbham (corresponds to February / March), Kakkoor Kalavayal, noted for the bull race or ox race. The race held on flooded rice fields, generates lots of excitement for the spectators belonging to all age groups.
