Wayanad Churam, a scenic mountain pass

The green magic
The Ghat road with nine hairpin bends passes amidst scenic misty hills. As you wind the way up a surreal view of the greenery slowly unfolds. Gulmohar, Erythriana and a number of wild blooms add a dash of colour to the lush greenery. Along the way you can see troops of monkeys swinging in the canopy.
Lying atop the pass is Lakkidi, a hill station. On reaching Lakkidi you can have a panoramic view of the valley in all its grandeur. Several resorts are located at this place.
Tourist places in Wayanad
Wayanad is located in the northern part of the state. The district is home to large tribal population. The prehistoric Edakkal caves, wildlife sanctuaries of Muthanga and Tholpetty, Kuruva island, Pakshipathalam and Pookot lake are major tourist attractions here.
