Kannimara Teak at Parambikulam
Featured in this video is an age old teak tree, the Kannimara teak inside Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary in Chittur Taluk, Palakkad district of Kerala. One of the largest living teak trees in the world, this tree is believed to be sacred as legend says so. Once when it was attempted to cut down this tree, blood gushed out from the tree and from then this tree was believed sacred by the local tribals who also named it as 'Virgin Tree'.
