Crows surround a laden fishing boat
Nattika beach in the Thrissur district of Kerala, is a popular picnic spot. Travellers to the beach find it interesting to watch the rural life of this coastal fishing village.
The fishermen set out at dawn in country boats and reach the shore with their daily catch by dusk. The crows too are active by the time, awaiting a delicious feast.
The majority of fishermen here use traditional fishing methods using country boats and catamarans.
The beach with numerous coconut trees and hillocks is a good picnic spot. Thriprayar Sree Krishna temple and Sree Hanuman temple are located nearby.
Apart from Nattika, Chettuva and Azhikode are other major coastal fishing villages in the district.
