Ducks Swimming in Canal
Kuttanad, the low lying region that spreads across three districts of Kerala, is a striking destination in the state. A major portion of the region falls in the Alappuzha district. Agriculture is the major occupation of the local population here. Paddy is grown in thousands of hectares of land.
Duck rearing is a subsidiary occupation for many farmers. Once the harvest is over, the vast paddy fields are the rearing ground of ducks.
Thousands of ducks waddling over the fields is a delightful sight. Duck growers from even distant places reach Kuttanad during this season. Seen in the video is a grower heading towards a field with his stock.
