Stone age caves that are still intact
The Neolithic era, or the New Stone Age, is a period of time, long before recorded history began. But the era is kept recorded in the Edakkal Caves in Wayanad District of Kerala, South India. The caves are in th Ambukuthi Hills, which are part of the larger mountain range of the Western Ghats.
Inside the caves there are two natural rock formations bearing carvings of human and animal forms. Besides human and animal figures, the petroglyphs or rock engravings include Swastik symbols and many other antique symbols that are remnants of bygone times. The place is a tourist attraction as well as a place of enormous interest for archaeologists.
