How to drape a two-piece that spells traditional Kerala style
The mundu-nerithe (Settu Mundu) is a traditional Kerala saree-style garment. It comprises two pieces of cloth: a sarong (mundu) and a top cloth. It comes in a typical off-white handloom cotton, that apparently complements every Kerala complexion—from the fair to wheatish to dark—perfectly.
It is worn slightly differently by different communities; the Christians in central Kerala favour a whiter cotton, while the Muslims prefer a printed mundu and a longer blouse. This video shows how to wear the outfit, that is traditionally worn by Hindus, by increasingly favoured by all young women in Kerala.
