Southern Duffer or Discophoria lepida
Southern Duffer (Discophoria lepida) belongs to the Morphiane subgroup of Brushfooted butterfly family. It is one of the 330 varieties of butterflies found in Kerala and is very rare. The Munnar- Chinnar region in Idukki district is home to Southern Duffers.
The upper side of the adult Southern Duffer is velvety brown and the forewings are crossed at the apex by three obliquely placed, comparatively large, pale-blue spots with an ill-defined series of three or four much smaller sub terminal spots.
Apart from India, Southern Duffers are found in Sri Lanka.
