Grey Pansy or Precis atlites
Grey Pansy (Precis atlites) belongs to the Nymphalide family of butterflies. It is one of the least common butterflies of the state. It inhabits low elevations of regions with heavy rainfall like paddy fields and jungle areas.
The upper side of Grey Pansies are pale grey or lavender-brown with dark greyish brown markings. The forewings have four transverse wavy lines in the cell, a round wavy band and a complete row of outer ocelli. The wingspan is 55-65mm.
Grey Pansies visit almost all the flowers and also would like to feed on rotten fruits. In the world, it can be seen in almost all oriental regions except the driest regions.
