Golden Shower Tree in Full Bloom
Devour the spectacle and you will be surely traversed to another world, for such is the visual delight offered by this Golden Shower Tree, known to the Keralites as Kanikonna. Deemed as the state flower of Kerala, Kanikkonna occupies a special space in the language, literature and culture of Kerala. The medium-sized tree blooms in a particular season during the Medam month of Malayalam calendar (April-May). It is the time when Keralites celebrate Vishu in which Kanikkonna is a ritual item.
