Teak Museum, Nilambur
For nature enthusiasts, the Teak Museum in Kerala, operated by Kerala Forest Research Institute is a perfect halt. Located around 4 kilometer from Nilambur town in Malappuram district, the museum is a two storey building and is considered as first teak museum in the world.
A storehouse to the treasures of historical, aesthetic and scientific aspects of Teak, this museum was established in 1995 on the campus of KFRI. Nilambur is the perfect place to start a Teak Museum as the world’s first teak plantation was planted here back in 1840.
