Padmanabhapuram Palace Part 5
Padmanabhapuram Palace is a majestic structure located at Thuckalay in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu. It is situated about 65 km from Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala.
The Padmanabhapuram Palace in the past was an integral part of the erstwhile royal family of Travancore. At present the palace is managed by the Government of Kerala.
The video here shows the Puthan Kottaram, which literally means ‘new palace’ and is the youngest of all the palace structures in the Padmanabhapuram Palace complex.
Also shown in this video is the Navarathri Mandapam which was earlier the venue of cultural programs during the Navarathri festival. It is one of the major attractions at the Padmanabhapuram Palace. It was constructed during the reign of King Marthanda Varma.
