A riveting tribal song by Kelu Mooppan

Kelu Mooppan is a tribal leader of the Kurichyar community in Mananthavady region of Wayanad district, Kerala. Kelu Mooppan came to the limelight with the release of a Malayalam movie Salt n Pepper in which he played the role of tribal leader whom the protagonist brings to the city. Kelu Mooppan’s first silver screen venture was Pazhassi Raja, a blockbuster Malayalam movie based on the life of the gallant king Pazhassi Raja in the 18th century.

The song that he is rendering here is a special tribal song sung exclusively during their festivals and religious occasions. The video was taken from the Global Village conducted at Bolgatty Island, Ernakulam, Kerala, India. The event was organized as part of the Grand Kerala Shopping Festival.
