The holy Padmatheerthakkulam, East Fort

Featured this video is the holy Padmatheerthakkulam (Padmatheertha Pond) in front of Padmanabhaswamy temple in East fort. During the reign of King Marthanda Varma the temple pond was renovated and its depth and perimeter enhanced. In an age when technical knowledge was not so great these ponds were remarkably well preserved and maintained.
